About Me:

I started CrossFit in November 2014 in New York City at a 650 square foot duplex studio apartment. Many of my friends told me how good I would be at CrossFit. For some reason, I kept putting it off and sought other areas of fitness. I started gymnastics at the age of 3 with my sister and continued it for 18 more years. I finished my career at the University of Michigan with four team Big Ten Championships.

Right after college, I did a strength and conditioning internship at the University of Michigan. I began weightlifting there. After doing one competition, I had a couple injuries (most likely due to gymnastics that showed up a little later) which caused me to switch to bodybuilding. After doing a physique show, I realized that sport wasn't for me. During this time, I was personal training at Ballys Total Fitness, which then got bought out by LA Fitness. This caused me to leave and go to a studio gym. Though I loved Ann Arbor, I needed a change.

The opportunity to move to NYC came so I moved in May of 2013. I began training at New York Health and Racquet club where I met a powerlifting coach and did my first competition. While I was preparing for my competition, the owner of CrossFit SPOT contacted me about coaching CrossFit because he knew of my gymnastics and training background. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity for me to start. After winning the powerlifting competition, I decided it was time to change direction. The other sports were great but I just love that there are so many different movements and always something to work on with CrossFit. Once I started, I realized my background was perfect and I began to excel quickly.

Six months after beginning CrossFit training, I found myself competing at the East Regional. In my first year I was able to qualify for the CrossFit Games and finish 21st place in the world. After this, I knew I had found my sport and love everyday of it!
